Abstract

The study aimed to assess the impact of strategic vigilance along with its dimensions -technological vigilance, competitive vigilance, marketing vigilance, commercial vigilance, and environmental vigilance- on institutional excellence, which subsumes leadership excellence, human resources excellence, strategic excellence, operations excellence, and product excellence at pharmaceutical manufacturing companies in Amanat Al Asima, Yemen. It also aimed to identify the level of practicing strategic vigilance and achieving institutional excellence in the companies under study. To achieve the objectives of the study and test its hypotheses, the descriptive analytical method was followed. The questionnaire was used to collect data. The study population consisted of (210) members of administrative leadership, including general managers, department managers, and heads of sections. The complete census sampling method was used, as the size of the study population was small. The data was entered and coded to the SPSS package. The study results revealed a statistically significant impact of strategic vigilance on institutional excellence in the companies under investigation. Moreover, the level of achieving institutional excellence and practicing strategic vigilance scored a high degree. Based on the results, the study recommends that pharmaceutical manufacturing companies in Amanat Al Asima should pay more attention to strategic vigilance practices, as they enable organizations to respond to surrounding variables and represent the effective element in institutional excellence.
